KOTA KINABALU: Competitive Supreme Sdn Bhd (CSSB), the sole importer and distributor of Ssang Yong Vehicles in the country, has opened its sales, service and parts (3S) centre at Taman Industri Warisan Indah, along the Tuaran Road in Inanam.

The newly opened modern and conveniently located facilities is part of CSSB’s effort to better serve and anticipate their customers’ every need, according the company’s Managing Director Muhammad Fadhil Ahmad.

He said the company had invested quite a substantial amount of money to provide professional and efficient service in Sabah.

This new Ssangyong 3S centre has everything that a customer could need – a modern and fully equipped workshop, ample parts storage area, a showroom area and a customer lounge, according to Muhammad Fadhil.

“We are confident that our 3S Centre will enhance customer confidence in the Ssang Yong Brand and this will in turn boost sales of Ssang Yong vehicles in Sabah,” he said.

Muhammad Fadhil also said that Ssang Yong is serious in further developing their business in Malaysia.

CSSB recently signed an MOU with Automotive Manufacturers Malaysia Sdn Bhd to locally assemble Ssang Yong vehicles, which will further increase customer confidence and loyalty in Ssang Yong brand.

“With the signing of the MOU, production is anticipated to begin by the end of the year and the award winning Ssang Yong Rexton SUV will be the first to roll off the assembly line. Other Ssang Yong models like the Stavic MPV and future exciting models are sure to follow,” he added

Meanwhile, CSSB General Manager Melvinder Singh said the company started with Ssang Yong in mid 2002 and were able to sell more than 900 units in just six months.

“And 2003 was our first full year of business, and sales for the year were around 1,500 units and last year we sold about 2,000 units of Ssang Yong vehicles.

“These figure speaks volumes about the consumers’ confidence in us and this is very encouraging for a relatively new entity. We are of course very happy that the Ssang Yong brand has been well received and look forward to gaining even more market share in Sabah,” he said.

CSSB has six regional 3S centres strategically located in the country – three in Peninsula Malaysia consisting of one in the Northern Region, one in the Central Region and one in the Southern Region of Peninsula Malaysia as well as two in the Sarawak Region located in Miri and Kuching.

Besides the six 3S Centres, we also have an ultramodern service centre in Kuala Lumpur and a modern showroom in Kota Kinabalu located at Lot No. 8, Ground Floor, Wisma KKM, Mile 5, Jalan Tuaran, Inanam.

All these facilities complement and support CSSB network of over 70 sales and 26 service dealer outlets nationwide,” added Melvinder.

In conjunction with the opening of the Ssang Yong 3S centre here, CSSB Group Marketing and Communications Manager Razman Kassim, said all Ssang Yong customers in the State would receive a free service for their Ssang Yong vehicle which includes parts, labour and lubricants.

He said CSSB, whose primary business is in the automotive sector, entered into the local auto scene with Ssang Yong, a will respected Korean car manufacturer, with two models in particular, the Rexton SUV and the Chairman Luxury saloon.

Razman said the company has expended its dealer network to over 50 dealers operating over 70 outlets, covering both West and East Malaysia.

“The jewels in the Ssang Yong crown are undoubtedly its own 3’S’ centres (Sales, Service & Parts), of which there are six – Petaling Jaya, Penang, Johor Bahru, Miri, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.

“Apart from efficient management and good business acumen, CSSB success also lies in its products – the Ssang Yong Stavic, Rexton and the Chairman,” he said during a briefing to the press yesterday.

The latest Ssang Yong model is the Stavic SV260Xdi – a super size luxury MPV that can sit 7 adults comfortably with ample luggage area.

The Stavic is powered by a 2.7L turbo-charged Common Rail Diesel that is similar to the engine used in the popular Rexton RX270Xdi.

It was launched in late November 2004 and has steadily built a large sales order banks.

The Rexton is a seven-seater luxury SUV that has managed to capture the hearts and minds of Malaysians, not to mention market share in relatively short span of time.
